Located on Elm Street in the heart of the historic Deep Ellum arts and entertainment district, this dive bar, gallery space and full-on live music venue is a popular hangout with folks who live in the neighborhood, as well as the regulars who get tatted at Oliver Peck's Elm Street Tattoo next door. Don't be surprised to find a jovial, sometimes wisecracking bunch of smokers taking up spots on the small patio by the front door on Friday and Saturday nights. And make sure you fill your pockets with plenty of quarters, because inside you'll find one of the best working assortments of pinball machines in Dallas--great games like Jurassic Park, Playboy and The Simpsons. There's a spacious bar, a few booths and a row of tables near the front. In the very back is the stage and, to round things out in this popular joint, a jukebox and a few pool tables in between. This is my neighborhood bar. You never know what to expect, but you will make friends with the locals that hang out here. Cheap PBR all the time. I believe it's $1.25, maybe 1.50.
