It's tough to find a local who doesn't have a story about Jordan's, because this restaurant has been around since the 50s, serving Mexican fare. A unique item: Sour Cream Cheese Enchiladas, which we've never seen on any other menu. They're full of Philadelphia cream cheese, and topped with sour cream, cheddar, and scallions.
Jordan's has been a Phoenix landmark since 1946, and the place looks its age, with its dark interior, shiny, gold-flecked wallpaper and ragged red carpeting. Thank goodness for tradition, though -- the owners have seemingly never learned that so many restaurants these days are happy to shame us with food from bags, boxes and freezers.
