It's hard to write about Jonathan Adler and not succumb to the temptation to use words like doyenne

. That's because Adler's backward-glancing, tinged by kitsch but never too twee line of ceramics and pillows has proven so astonishingly popular. Not everyone can afford an interior decorator (if you can, though, Adler does that, too) but most can save up enough cash for an Adler bud vase or throw pillow and therefore achieve some sense of chic.
