Description

Owners Dominique Lashae and Mike Green's exurb hotspot hosts headlining national acts in comedy and tunes six days a week, with no cover unless indicated. The setting has a cool vibe, thanks to chrome accents and shades of blue and cream. Soul food and nouveau Latino-inspired dishes come out of chef Amoriello's see-through glass kitchen. The crawfish and shrimp enchilada, ranchero rib-eye, chicken and waffles and cornmeal-encrusted pie made with seasonal fruit assure the songs aren't the only hits. Sunday brunches are given the buffet treatment with jazz and gospel music. The club gets packed for jam sessions. So, if reservations are unattainable, you can send a text message with your order to go.

This is the most over priced unorganized establishment I have ever been to. We went there for lunch me and husband. They did not have most of the food that was on the LUNCH menu. They did not have fries, the chimi, or brisket or fish tacos and who knows what else. There was not bar tender that works lunch time. The waitress makes the Alcohol drinks and does not know how to make them good. The service was terrible one waitess working 4 tables. The kitchen staff looks ghetto and not well groomed. I had the chicken and waffles the food was not hot and get this it was a empty small container on plate that was suppose to have syrup in it. But no syrup I had to ask for some. My husband had originally asked for The chimi the waitress comes back and says they don't have it. He then asked for the briskett tacos she said that don't have that either he then ask for the fish tacos and they didn't have that either. So in dismay he asked for burger and fries and get this they were out of fries. Now these item were on the menu s but they don't have them. So he got the burger with a baked potato which was gross. The pattie was not seasoned it just taste like a frozen pattie you just put on a grill. We have went there before but were turned around at the door because we did not have reservarions. I was hoping I would be impressed with this black owned business because to my dissappoint I'm usually not impressed. I don't believe this can be a 4 or 5 star restaurant. The inside is ok but it is rather small and the seats are close together not a lot of privacy. I will never go there again and I will tell anyone that listens that this place sucks and I had high hopes for it but I make sure I tell people not to waste there time or money at Jokes and jazz Desoto. The food is so nasty and it taste old and pre-made and over priced and they don't even have the things that are listed on the menu. The waitress forgot several times to bring things we asked for to the table. The baked potato was horrible and hard and was supposed to be loaded and all they had on it was bacon and cheese. The table we sat at was broke and wobbled. I would have complained while we were there but I was not surprised so I didn't say anything I just won't go there again. You will be better off going to the Improve in Arlington which is about 20 minutes away and better food and great service and drinks with very funny comedians.
