Many a beer-guzzling barbecue fan mourned the loss of Elwood's Dixie Bar-B-Q in Delray Beach when it closed last year. But picking up right where it left off is Johnnie Brown's, a burger and barbecue joint named after famous Floridian Addison Mizner's pet monkey. A solid beer selection includes plenty of draft options. To soak it all up, try JB's fab pulled-pork sandwich, complete with smoky pork, a sweet sesame bun, and a side of meat-filled baked beans. The burgers are messy and overloaded, and the wings are gussied up with a plethora of cool sauces and spices like ancho bourbon and Cajun dry rub. Prices are also dirt-cheap, and the portions are huge, making Johnnie Brown's the perfect place to waste away a lazy afternoon, drinking and grooving.
