Description

The line snaking down the block at John G's is almost as famous as the place's blueberry pancakes. And the parking at Lake Worth Beach is no picnic either (bring lots of quarters for the meters). Go early, or take advantage of the New Times system, developed over years of painstaking trial and error: Call ahead for takeout, then ferry your grub to the beach across the street. Polish, German, Spanish, Greek, and American omelets are all terrific, but we're partial to the Italian omelet with sausage, peppers, pepperoni, and melted cheese, or the Hawaiian, chock-full of sautéed vegetables. And there's a lineup of hearty lunch items too, from fish and chips and fried clam strips to a series of "ethnic" burgers as imaginative as the omelets.
