Jim ´n Nick's is a chain, but one backed by real guys: Jim and Nick Pihakis, father and son, who ran the business together until Jim died not long ago. Now Nick is overseeing the expansion into barbecue-loving parts of America, including Aurora, where the local owner is Paul Cestaska, who came to Colorado by way of Birmingham. Now Nick is overseeing the expansion of the brand into barbecue-loving parts of America, including Colorado, which should bid Jim 'n Nick's a warm welcome. Because not only does it cook up pork ribs and pork shoulder and cheese biscuits and giant baked potatoes covered in pulled pork, but it has a drive-thru, where those... More »
What's better than barbecue? That's right: fast barbecue. While Jim 'n Nick's has all the trappings of a traditional barbecue restaurant -- tables, menus, waiters and such -- what makes it special is the drive-thru. Not only can you order off the entire menu here, but service is lightning-quick, and the real wood smokers fill every car with the smell of good old-fashioned brick-pit barbecue. More »
