This is one of the best family-owned Asian restaurants in the city. You can get in and out quickly, and the small place really packs them in despite a lack of parking. Specializing in Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese cuisines, Jenni's has great dumplings, noodle soups and curries. Jenni has a loyal following, especially among vegetarians. The menu is full of creatively named dishes like Infernal Chicken Curry, Not Gay Noodles and Art Car Curry.
Last week's entry was so long that we had to leave off a couple places. (And for the record: No, we're not actually offended by the name "House of Guys.") Starting with those two: Pho Binh Trailer (1... More »

Another amazing go-to spot. Oodles of noodles, all good in the noodle hood. Great prices for good meals. Jenni's also has a great selection of vegetarian choices (respect!) along with well known favourites. If you crave pho or would like a nice bowl of noodle soup on a cold winter day, this is a solid choice.
When Jenni's Noodles moved to South Shepherd and West Alabama, gay smiles filled the 'Trose. Now the gay-friendly eatery offers its Dream Rolls and Angry Udon inside the sacred Loop. Jenni's is famous for serving traditional Vietnamese dishes with interesting names and plenty of culinary twists that are tasty and fun. And the service is always friendly. This is a come-as-you-are eatery that has magically avoided the clichés of so many other restaurants. More »
Unless you're crazy about Lysol and Tilex, we can almost guarantee that the bathrooms at Jenni's Noodle House are cleaner than yours. You could eat a plate of Jenni's famous disco dumplings right off the floor (not that Jenni would appreciate that). But it's not just the shiny surfaces and sweet smell of these lavatories that make them our pick for best johns. It's their sense of hospitality. A table holds tiny plastic cups and a bottle of Scope, in case you need to freshen your breath after... More »
Mama Tran makes the dumplings at this quirky little family-run Vietnamese restaurant in the Old Chinatown neighborhood near the intersection of Highways 45 and 59. The dumplings are awesome, and the noodles are pretty good, too. Owner Jenni Tran-Weaver (Mama Tran's daughter) makes the homemade Vietnamese desserts. But that's not all that makes this place special. According to the menu, you get a lap dance from Jenni's husband, Scott, added to your bowl of noodles for $50 extra. (Shrimp is a... More »
