Jaqu's seems to function on the philosophy that if you pass yourself off as a fancy restaurant and still manage to be as casual and friendly as a sports bar, you'll bring in the customers. So far so good. Most order the sliders, Angus patties stuffed into sturdy potato mini-buns with goat cheese, tomatoes, watercress, horseradish aioli and crispy onion strings. The appetizer functions as a teaser that convinces you to upgrade to the Kobe burger. Go ahead and do it, but be sure to eat it with their wonderful homemade potato chips.
