Walking into J.R. Bentley's, patrons will notice wooden walls lined with vintage Guinness signs, stained-glass windows with boat motifs and a menu full of imported beers -- all the trappings of a faux-English pub. But there's also a creak in the floor, which speaks volumes about the bar's history. Bentley's has been a popular hangout for Arlington residents and nearby University of Texas at Arlington students for more than 30 years. On any given night, Bentley's will see customers who have been frequenting the bar for decades mixed in with college kids ready for their first legal drink. If it wasn't for that sign (shown at left) you would miss this joint. It's a TINY house converted into a pub. You probably think at this point it sounds junky or not worth your time. WRONG! this is a great place. Lots of local flavor from the townies and from the college. Their beer selection is kick ass for it being such an out of the way place. I I see alot of people like it, but haven't reviewed it. Probably because they don't want big crowds there! Let' them hit SHERLOCK'S! ha!
