Description

A onetime ironworks/machine shop has been reconceived into a retro-industrial dining option for SOMA's hungry white-collar worker bees. Open all day, the kitchen serves light breakfasts, classy lunchtime salads and sandwiches, freshly baked midafternoon cookies, discount beers during happy hour, and a dinner menu of American classics (steak, pizzas, chowders) upscaled with wild boar sausage, Tabasco butter, and the like. Some dishes are on the perfunctory side, but the desserts are generally sublime. There's a brief but interesting wine list (the owners also operate the District wine bar nearby).
