Chesterfield beer mecca International Tap House found the perfect place for its sister location: beery, cheery Soulard. The place is huge and swank, with exposed brick, buttery soft black leather couches, and a large patio out back for swilling al fresco. The International Tap House, or iTap, features 500 beers in bottles, 40 on draft and absolutely nothing else - although they'll let you order in food from a neighborhood eatery if you're peckish.
Selecting Riverfront Times' Best of St. Louis 2012 wasn't easy. Choosing the winner meant several worthy candidates would go unmentioned -- until now. In this RFT Music series, we're beeboping and sca... More »

International Tap House -- call it iTAP if you want to hang with the cool crowd -- could win this honor solely on the basis of the draft selections at its locations in Chesterfield and Soulard. With 40 taps, this beer Valhalla offers revolving lineups of the best craft beers from our own back yard (Urban Chestnut, Civil Life, Schlafly and Perennial, among them) to such national big-timers as Stone, Bell's and Goose Island, with a few European brews for good measure. Then you look... More »
If we've learned anything from Homer Simpson, it's that men are simple creatures. A good beer-scented belch here, a nice 32-ounce porterhouse there -- it's not rocket science. So why not seek them out at their most contented, a place where beer flows like carbonated wine? Look no further, ladies, than the cathedral to man's first love: the International Tap House, Soulard edition. Five hundred beers, forty of them on draft, and way too many flat-screens showing SportsCenter, all tucked... More »
The original location of the International Tap House bravely opened in the craft-beer desert of Chesterfield in early 2009, and it worked so well that it scooped this award in last year's "Best of St. Louis" issue. Owners Brad Lobdell and Sean Conroy weren't content, though, and began scouting locations in the city of St. Louis, eventually settling on a big, beautiful old building on South Ninth Street. The Soulard location has something that the Chesterfield branch lacks -- oodles of... More »
