Whether acquired cold from a panel truck at a rural corner, or hot from a village macelleria, porchetta is Italy's favorite sandwich meat. Though duplicating this fennel-stuffed roast with the copper crackling skin in this country is patently impossible, 'Inoteca has made a noble stab at it. Their sometime special of herb-stuffed and well-fatted porchetta, piled on an elongated roll and sided with grated cheese, pickled onions, and parsley, is as good as we're going to get here.
In the LES. Good Italian fair. Eat a lot little things. Great cheeses and salumi
we sat at the communal table because the place was just packed. the other people had wine and cheese that looked amazing. our dishes were composed of interesting and different flavor combos- salty/sweet, crispy/soft. our waiter was helpful and knowledgeable. it was a little loud, but with a small group, or if you sit outside, it shouldn't be a problem. go. you won't regret it.
great italian on the lower east side
