Perhaps one of the loveliest places to dine in greater Los Angeles, Inn of the Seventh Ray is a naturalist's dream, set idyllically in the heart of the Topanga Canyon wilderness. If ever a menu complemented the peacefulness of its surrounds, this one does. The menu is 90 percent organic (including the all-natural meats and poultry); the produce comes directly from local farms; and the dinner menu is magnificent, featuring light and flavorful dishes that are cooked in a way that the essence of the vegetables is brought out (and hardly any dairy!). The Sunday brunch buffet is renowned as well, with items such as quiches, salads, vegetable loaves, traditional and tofu cheeses, assorted pates and spreads, assorted pastries and much more ($21 for vegetarian buffet, $25 for full).
