Located in City Park on the second floor of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Phipps IMAX Theater is a 441-seat auditorium designed specifically for large-format IMAX films. Equipped with a screen measuring over four and a half stories tall and six and a half stories wide, as well as a 15,000-watt, 58-speaker digital sound system, the Phipps Theater screens educational nature- and science-related documentary IMAX films seven days a week, year-round. Note: There is no late admittance to the theater.
Last December, the newly renamed Denver Museum of Nature and Science in City Park updated its 441-seat IMAX theater with a 15,000-watt (up from 8,500) digital sound system featuring six-track reproduction and -- count 'em -- 58 giant speakers.
