Described by co-owner Daryl Chester as the "only bar in Arizona connected to an ice rink," this vintage East Phoenix dive (which dates back to the early '60s) boasts a couple of other distinctions as well: Not only is it the only still-standing portion of the bygone Tower Plaza Mall, it's become a regular stop for the hipster crowd, who come for weekend shows by Valley bands or to rub elbows with weekend hockey league players. Entertainment isn't limited to just local musicians strutting their stuff, as you can watch would-be skaters at the adjacent Arcadia Ice Arena through a large window or partake in the steel tip dart tournament every Friday.

How is it that we've scraped this town, year after year, searching for drinking digs without ever coming across this little gem?
