The Hut is a casual, well-hidden watering hole that opens its doors to local imbibers at 7 a.m. every day except Sunday. Tucked behind the CVS drug store across the street from the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale, this divey, one-room Liquordale institution gets almost no foot traffic. It's frequented by regulars of all stripes -- whose birthdays are listed on a board -- and those looking for an off-the-beaten-path nightlife experience. The walls are lined with photographs, trophies, and plaques that convey a family-like bar culture. You won't find fancy drinks or draft beer here, just poured liquor drinks and bottled beer. There's a pool table, two dartboards, a big sandy shuffleboard table and better-than-decent classic and modern rock music provided by satellite or patrons who know their way around a jukebox. The Hut airs sports games on its several televisions, and from the look of the décor, Packers fans should feel right at home.
