The highlight of Hurricane Grill & Wings is the seemingly endless choice of sauces - 32, to be exact - that flavor the wings. They are broken down into groups ranging from category one (mild) to category five (seek shelter) and include flavors as varied as barbecue, Jamaican jerk, and "ridiculously hot hurricane sauce." It might sound a little gimmicky, but the sauces aren't bad. Wings - boneless and otherwise - are sold in ten, 15, 20, and 50 piece platters ($10 to $40). The menu also includes a large selection of appetizers such as smoked fish dip ($9) and nachos and cheese dip ($7), as well as sandwiches ($8 to $10), salads ($4 to $10), burgers ($8 to $9), and seafood ($11). Add to that a solid selection of beers and microbrews - from Corona to Purple Haze - and flat-screen TVs, and this Midtown Shops outpost of the Fort Pierce chain becomes a great place to watch sports in an area with few options for that.

Oh how I love this place! Alright guys so I�ve been extremely busy but mostly lazy lately so sorry about taking so long to post up but what are you gonna do eh? Anyway on this latest adventure I was accompanied by non-other than THE PUDGE. We had seen this place many times during it�s preconstruction and were pretty excited that we had a new wing themed restaurant opening in the area. We happened to be in the neighborhood one day and noticed what I could only describe as a glorious magical sign sent by God. Our date with destiny had finally come. OH HAPPY DAY! My first impression upon entering Hurricanes was DAMN THIS PLACE IS TINY! I�m talking about sport themed prison cell tiny. Slightly larger than the average living room theirs roughly about 40 seats with 11 tables in the whole place. But actually I really like this place just as it is. I like the fact that you�re able to clink beer mugs with the people right next to you. I like the fact that if I need to get up and take a tinkle I only need to stumble on over a couple of steps to relieve myself. Having bathrooms close by comes in very handy when you're walking around in a drunken stupor. Lord knows I know. Now don�t get me wrong, you�re not actually sitting elbow to elbow there�s definitely enough room to walk around and you can certainly tell that the cute waitresses (and there are a few) have gotten really good at maneuvering around these tight corners. You could even say that it�s actually pretty cozy there. Guess that's one of the reasons I call it my home away from home. Did you notice the upside down chairs in the background? Yep that means they're closed, told you it was my second home. Yes I know these last two pictures came out horrendous... I blame the alcohol! I gotta tell you I really like Hurricanes, there are three large flat screen plasma tv's usually with different sporting events on and they really try to cover the big games (I've watched Dolphins, Marlins and yes even the USA's Soccer team lose to Brazil). Whoever was in charge of the interior design did a pretty good job because anywhere you sit you've got a good view of a high definition plasma television. Check out the resolution on that bad boy (think the bar was empty because Tennis was on... Who the hell watches tennis?) Now onto my favorite part of Hurricanes... THE FOOD! I like the cheese fries. No wait I'm sorry I didn't say that correctly, I apologize lets try that again. I LOVE AND WANT TO MAKE SWEET SWEET PASSIONATE LOVE TO THE OBSCENELY LOADED FRIES! We're talking chopped Bacon, shredded Monterey Jack and Cheddar Cheeses, Jalapenos and drizzled ever so lovingly with Ranch dressing. Honestly words cannot describe how good these bad boys are. They are easily my favorite menu item. Words cannot describe and neither can this picture... good lord my suckness with a camera factor has been high lately. Of course like an idiot I forgot to take a picture of the Wings (you would think with the name Hurricane Grill & WINGS I would of remembered). All you need to know about them are three things... 1. You get quality pieces of meat (either boneless or regular, I suggest the latter of the two) 2. They are tasty as all hell. (I noticed the majority of the time you get more drumsticks which is a plus) 3. You can enjoy them with a variety of over 30 different sauces. (TRY THE FIRECRACKER SAUCE!) This isn't your average bar and grill, sure you can get burgers (they only use 100% Angus beef) and fries (sweet potato anyone?) but did you know that they also serve Mahi-Mahi, Grouper and fresh tossed salads for those of you that are a little more health conscience. F- THAT GET THE CHEESE FRIES! They go great with a nice cold beer. Oh wait did I forget to mention that? It's probably because i'm writing this at 1:30 in the morning. But next time you walk into Hurricanes grab a seat and ask for a cold brew. You'll get a list of the usuals... Heineken, Budweiser, Sam Adams and then you'll get a list of some not so usual names...Purple Haze, Brooklyn Lager, Sea Paw Ale, Harpoon and Holy Mackerel I.P.A.... That's because the Owner likes to keep an ample selection of Micro-brew beers in stock. (Hurray for the little guy!) It's a good way to get a little taste and quality which is outside of the norm. Not you're average selection of beer here. Though I myself am a Bostonian, I can make an exception to try a good NY beer. It's very easy to pound down beers with such a diverse selection (Yep one person 5 pints, it's a beautiful thing) Hurricane's is a cool place with a great atmosphere. It has it all, good food, good drinks and an always friendly staff. I really mean it everyone there is always smiling and having a good time. What's up with that? What's the secret there? I would ask Owner and Operator Bowen Abitbol who's usually laid back behind the bar flashing a smile and chatting away with customers. Don't be fooled, when it gets busy he's not above getting his hands dirty and helping out the rest of the wait staff with delivering their orders. Here are a couple of happy faces. Why they hell are they smiling? I actually thought about grabbing one of them in a headlock just to see what would happen next. Hurricanes has been open only a couple of months and it's already growing at a rapid pace. Since it's initial opening Hurricanes has already added a covered outdoor patio with 20+ seats and there are plans to add an outdoor television. Bowen also plans to add two more permanent beer taps and their is the possibility of an outdoor projector system for football games. He has already confirmed that within the next couple of weeks you can expect to hear live music played on Wednesdays by some of Miami's own local artists. So you can expect a lot of craziness happening soon in the next couple of months. Did I mention there was craziness? Enough reading, get off your ass and check this place out.
