The heck with those super-fancy joints! we like the comfortable leather booths at this perenniel fave, and we love love the fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs. Did we mention the prime rib sandwich with cool and creamy cold slaw? Or the cook-to-perfection Hawaiian rib eye, served with red cabbage and the fluffiest baked potato in town? Start with the coconut shrimp roll and work your way up to one of these magnificent entrees, then finish with one of Houston's delicious seasonal dessert (our favorite is the apple cobbler)
A lot of times, we hit chains like this on the road. Just a good overall restaurant.
Houston's has an amazing veggie burger! It's made from scratch and has great flavor. You can choose a variety of sides (fries, baked potato, cole slaw, seasonal vegetables) - I suggest going with the baked potato. It comes loaded with butter, which is just how I like it.
One school of thought says children ought not to be taken to a "real" restaurant until they reach, say, the age of 12. Naturally, the members of that out-of-touch school probably don't have kids.
