Description

Houston Press' Description

The original Bellaire location of Union Kitchen is warm and inviting, with a full bar to one side and a lush patio. That bar makes some excellent Bloody Marys during Sunday brunch, which are the perfect companion to a seven-layer stack of its buttery pancakes. Lunch and dinner are more scattered affairs, but the burgers - especially the signature onion ring-topped Angus burger - are reliably good.

We were excited a new restaurant opened across the Memorial from us. That was until we went Union Kitchen. Waiter and manager had the personalities of a door knob. Owner went from table to table, ignoring us. Food was ok, but again, there's a lot of restaurants at City Centre with great service and outstanding food.

45 mins of our lives we will never get back!

Order the crab-stuffed avocado as an appetizer. One of the best things in existence.

    Try the calamari!

5 of 8 party ordered union burger (medium). All were overcooked and tasted like charcoal. But we ate it bc everyone was hungry after a run. The bacon was good. BBQ chicken sandwich was delicious.

    Try the salmon gallet
