Description

Houston Press' Description

The Pass has garnered rave reviews from media outlets across the country since it opened in in River Oaks in November of 2012, and rightfully so. The food is unlike anything you'll find elsewhere in Houston -- small tasting plates artfully constructed that put a unique spin on otherwise familiar ingredients. From the enormously popular ham and eggs (chicharrones sprinkled with ham powder accompanied by a tin of caviar atop creme fraiche and dehydrated eggs and capers) to bread in the shape of mushrooms, gourmet Dippin' Dots and Campari lollipops, every dish at The Pass is made with a bit of whimsy that turns meals into more than just eating. Dinner at The Pass is about the experience, the showmanship, the wink and nod that is at play in every minute ingredient. It doesn't always work, but when it does, the meal can be, well, show-stopping.
