    I lived close by here growing up in Deer Park and took it for granted, but after we moved to the SW side, we came back to watch the annual battle recreation. There were people dressed up like Texan and Mexican soldiers and others who were wearing period garb. There were a LOT of vendors and exhibitions to keep entertained before the battle begins.
