Description

Houston Press' Description

Plonk bills itself as a Garden Oaks/Oak Forest wine bar, but it’s so much more than that. The impeccably compiled wine list (owner Scott Miller was once the wine director for Pappas Steakhouse) is complemented by an eccentric beer list that’s heavy on local and craft brews. And both lists are bolstered by a full dinner menu that features modern American cuisine from Chef Erin Smith as well as favorites like an aged hanger steak or a juicy cheeseburger topped with guanciale.

Pizzas are exceptionally good and pairs well with most reds.

  • Eater on 07/30/12

Plonk is essential to Oak Forest and has a great beer and wine selection. Meatbals, thai curry mussels and hangar steak all merit repeat visits. [Eater 38 Member]
