Description

Houston Press' Description

Pico's stands apart from other Houston Mexican restaurants by offering not just Tex-Mex favorites, but also traditional interior and coastal Mexican dishes. Breakfast is served daily until 3 p.m. and selections range from classic Mexican dishes such as chilaquiles and huevos ranchero to American options, like the veggie and cheddar omelet. Lunch offers good values and large portions. Dinner starts at 5 p.m., and this is when things really begin to take off. The garlic shrimp appetizer with fresh, plump shrimp swimming in a steaming bowl of garlic oil just waiting to be sopped up with thickly sliced toast, is unlike anything you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. Their famous margaritas are a must. Be prepared to wait if you show up during peak hours.

I wouldn't write a review on my first visit. Not on my 2nd visit. Or on my third visit. I waited til around my 15th visit to write a review. And all I have to say is the food is mediocre, drinks are good, and the service SUCKS for Hispanic patrons. They treat the Caucasian clientele so well, I see it whenever I'm there. They sit next to me and I see that they get a conversation... More >>

Love Pico's. The Nachos Jorge are not like any you've ever had. Incredible! The seafood enchiladas as well as the crawfish enchiladas are a must. Delicious, delicious! Can't wait to use my coupon.

A Houston institution. The best margaritas in Houston, hands down. Great steaks and chicken mole.
