Description

Houston Press' Description

A sparse interior with bench seating may not be conducive to lingering, but
then, most people get their food to go. Boxed lunches come with fruit salad, chips, a cookie and a pickle. While you're there, pick up some homemade granola or bread and one of their scrumptious desserts, such as lemon bars or chocolate-Bourbon pecan pie.

They have a rack of New Yorkers you can read.

I've been coming here for years and Picnic definitely has the best chicken salad sandwich in all of Houston! Their bread is always super fresh and the staff is always friendly as well!

  • Brandee A. on 05/25/12

The chewy chocolate cookie is addicting... yum...

  • CultureMap Houston M. on 03/20/12

The counter holds a map of good picnic spots that includes parks both near (the Cullen Sculpture Garden and Miller Outdoor Theatre) and far (the Water Wall).

  • Sherri C. on 04/27/11

Try the yummy shrimp mayo salad on a Poboy!
