Houston Press' Description
At Galleria-area MF Sushi, sushi lovers will adore chef "Magic Fingers" Chris Kinjo. With experience honed from working in more than 30 sushi restaurants, Kinjo has mastered the art of making nigiri sushi. To get the best experience, book an omakase, or chef's tasting dinner, at the sushi bar for an up-to-20-course journey into the world of sushi and sashimi. Tuesdays and Fridays will see exotic fish flown in from Tokyo's famed fish market, Tsukiji. Try a sashimi appetizer of shima aji with yuzu kosho (striped jack with pickled yuzu paste), and go beyond the familiar sushi staples like maguro (tuna) or sake (salmon) to try some of the more exotic fish, like a madai (sea bream) or kinmedai (golden eye snapper). At lunch, the grilled eel lunch special, which comes with miso soup and green salad, is excellent.
Tips from foursquare
Best Sushi in Houston. Yes, it's better than the others.
Amazing. You arrive and they give you hot hand towels, shave your wasabi down with a board and the root, and they shave salt onto your edamame.. Fish is flown in and is the freshest in Houston
Dish: Beef Tataki Kaiware
The quality and purity of what Kinjo (owner) is doing is evident when you sit down at the hand polished bar for his omakase! We highly recommend this place!
Nice interior go for the cold sake
