Houston Press' Description
The Gulfton location of Mexican-fusion seafood chain Mambo fuses a variety of culinary cultures together and serves the result up in a casually festive atmosphere. The ceviche stands out the most here â Mambo is true to the tradition of serving ceviche made with only white fish, uncomplicated by any other kind of seafood. (Otherwise it becomes
a seafood salad.) They do, however, add avocado, onion, cilantro and tomato, creating interest and a sublime fresh flavor. Other popular dishes include friend shrimp, fried rice, gumbo and oysters on the half shell. Wash whatever you order down with their spicy specialty, the michelada.
Tips from foursquare
Food is great but takes long to get on the table
Try the grilled fish! Food is a steal here.
Not sure the red snapper is actually that. The talapia is better tasting and remains moist when fried. The food is very good, but the atmosphere is lacking.
It's a fact... Best micheladas in houston!
