Houston Press' Description

This comfortable, mellow restaurant reflects the culture and cuisine of El Salvador. The centerpiece of the Salvadoran table is the pupusa, an extra-heavy corn tortilla split, filled with goodies such as pork, cheese and herbs, and grilled. Though menudo sends some scurrying for the safety of an enchilada plate, Los Ranchitos serves some breathtakingly tender tripe. Camarones a la crema is happiness in a bowl, with shrimp and vegetables simmered in a sauce of tomatoes, pepper, cumin, annatto and cream. The adventure-challenged diner will find fajitas, grilled chicken and some really good tacos al carbon.
