Description

Houston Press' Description

Montrose's Indika may be the best Indian restaurant in the country. What makes Anita Jaisinghani's food great is that it's not only among the most creative takes on Indian cuisine in America, it's also muy picante when it's supposed to be. In New York and San Francisco, innovative Indian chefs have to please wimpy local tastes. But here in jalapeño-happy Houston, Indika's fabulous, fiery Indian cooking is truly appreciated.

Great ambiance and chill music. Perfect for a date and the food is rather seductive.

Bright flavor defines not just the food here, but cocktails too; some really creative stuff is happening behind the bar. Sunny patio, this is living!

Indika is NOT your Indian food buffet. I have never had so many new flavors I'd never experienced before.

The lamb chops are melt your mind good. Really, lamb served 2 ways with the chops so perfectly medium rare in the middle and crispy on the outside, while the other lamb is a perfect vindaloo.

The Lamb Shanks, Kashmiri Chicken Biryani and the Stuffed Chicken are absolutely delicious. Try the spinach-paneer for starters. It's good.
