Hans' Bier Haus
Houston, TX 77005
- Patio/Sidewalk Dining
Houston Press' Description
Hans Bier Haus remains steadfast and grounded in its Rice Village neighborhood. Now surrounded by giant concrete walls (late-night noise being the condo residents' main beef), the 15-year-old bar offers more than 60 beers from all over the world on tap. Though Hans' interior can feel a little cramped, its real draw is the vast porch/beer garden out back, which is completely covered by donated sailboat sails and contains one of three Bocce Ball courts in the Houston area. The bartenders know everything there is to know about beer, or so it seems, and can easily assist any novice - unless the homemade sangria or frozen mimosas are more their speed.
Tips from foursquare
great place to relax, have a beer, and hang out with friends
Don't park in the lot next door. Firestone locks it when they close.
The bartenders are awesome. They will introduce you to an amazing craft beer experience!
