Houston Press' Description

Not only can you bring home a whole snapper to prepare for dinner at home, but you can order some of what loyal regulars claim to be the best fried fish and shrimp in town. It must be the freshness factor - the family-run and owned fish market caters to a lunch crowd with their simple but popular fried seafood, which comes off the boat and onto your plate. Situated in an unassuming strip mall and labeled simply as "fish market," you'll have to look pretty hard for the place as you drive by, but fans of the cozy restaurant/market claim the effort is well worth it.

Tips from foursquare

Fresh fresh fish, oysters & shrimp - let them fry it or take it home. You'll be happy either way.

Brilliance is in simplicity and this is where they place shines. Rather than focus on complex ingredients, they focus on minimalism and the main ingredient; Freshest catfish I've had, delicious.

Be ready for attitude from staff and especially customers. And god forbid you try and use a credit card.

The absolute first name in fresh seafood... The lunch specials are great, and the fresh fish looks amazing!

Best damn fish market in Texas!
