Houston Press' Description

CLOSED - Caffe Bello has a menu to make you happy no matter how much you want
to spend, just as long as you like simple, hearty Italian food with a
few twists. The smaller piccolo dishes like the wonderfully creamy
pappardelle al telefono with cheesy tomato sauce are priced for
sharing as an appetizer or enjoying as an inexpensive dinner, while
the grande dishes like linguini with seafood are big in both price and
portion. Happy hour is the best time to enjoy the airy, crispy
pizzettas - personal pizzas with a range of inspired toppings - and
there are few places in town better to enjoy a Texas sunset than from
the upstairs, air-conditioned patio over a bottle of red.

    The Shrimp & Tobasco Grits, um, arrived halfway “dried up.” I felt my grits were going to be cement in just a couple of minutes. I was right. Horrible… A disgrace to grits all over the world.

    Wonderful happy hour specials w/good wine at 4/glass and the pizzaretta's are delicious. I can't wait to try the tomato and watermelon salad and go for brunch soon.
