Cafe Layal Midtown
Houston, TX 77002
Houston Press' Description
Cafe Layal is both a colorfully decorated Mediterranean cafe
and a late-night hookah bar featuring live music and belly dancing. Food
offerings include a wide variety of Middle Eastern favorites, from stuffed
grape leaves, falafel and hummus to kabobs and shawarma. Additionally, Cafe
Layal serves burgers, fries and toasted sub sandwiches. The cafe's
beverage selection features fresh-squeezed fruit juices and an assortment of coffee drinks and smoothies, including traditional Turkish coffee and
Persian tea. At night, the crowd leans toward the young side.
Tips from foursquare
Try code 69 with watermelon.. Best flavor ever!
Great hookah, great service! BYOB in the evenings, too! I'll have to come back and actually try the food next time! :)
Bad food, bad service...won't be going back
Cafe Layal in Midtown has the worst service! Took 30 mins to get water! The place is packed and they only have one waiter!
I like their Chicken Shawarma sandwiches...and hummus.
