Houston Press' Description
As far as bars go, The Boneyard is one for the dogs. No, seriously. This Washington Avenue spot just north of I-10 is believed to be the world's first combination bar and dog park. With 7,000 square feet of fenced-in backyard for the pups, a roomy patio, and interior filled with doggy decor, this drinkery caters both to man and his best friend. No food or liquor is served due to Houston's ordinances concerning four-legged creatures, but Boneyard's beverage selection includes several microbrews, wine and coffee, and you can order bites off the various food trucks that come through.
Tips from foursquare
You don't have to bring a dog to enjoy this bar, but with a full-on dog park (gated, of course), you might want to borrow a friend's for the evening.
The dog park here was just big enough for my wolf pack.
Only one gate door open at a time, please! That's how puppies get out and run into the street.
Don't let your dog get gang banged.
