Description

Houston Press' Description

When you think Vietnamese food in Houston, you don't usually think of the Tomball area, but Ba Mien Bistro is a gem of a restaurant tucked into a run-down shopping center on FM 1960. Unlike most authentic Vietnamese eateries in town, Ba Mien pays close attention to presentation, in every aspect of service, from the food to the cozy interior that pays homage to the influence that France has had on Vietnam. The restaurant's chile basil wings are some of the best in town, and the roasted pork that finds its way into banh mi and spring rolls is juicy, flavorful and slightly charred. The pho is nothing particularly special, but other dishes, like the spicy tofu or Bun bo Hue, make up for a few lackluster offerings. Make sure you get some macarons from Ganache Dessert Bar on your way out. Ba Mien brings them in from the nearby bakery, and they're some of the tastiest around.

Had lunch with my patents here. We loved the food, service and the decor. The owners are very accommodating. They allow BYOB. Great for a small girls night out.
