Description

Houston Press' Description

Though parking at Antidote can be a bit of a challenge (welcome to the Heights), it's a great place to get some late-night studying done, thanks to the free wifi and multitude of caffeinated beverages. Antidote serves fair trade, organic coffee as a … well … antidote to its sister business, Poison Girl bar. Antidote also stocks food from local producers like Fat Cat Creamery, as well as wine, just in case that studying gets to be too much. With indoor and outdoor tables and a number of worn-in sofas, Antidote is a great place to meet up with friends or pass the time while attempting to get work done.

Tips from foursquare

  • CultureMap Houston on 07/14/11

Don't forsake the hidden patio! Whereas indoors might be a little too close for comfort in this cozy coffee shop, outdoors is perfect for wine by hanging lights.

  • Kit O. on 03/28/10

drink a cajete latte on the outdoor patio.

  • JewelMint on 05/26/11

Try the Cajeta Latte, Antidote’s take on a Caramel Macchiato that features Mexican goat’s milk and caramel spread… delish!

  • Notice the laundromat signage left from before. Surprised there aren't more coffee houses around. Mixed crowd. Get iced soy chai latte.

  • Mike Z. on 03/23/10

    Their lattes are on point.
