A cornucopia of competition is offered on a nightly basis at this venerable Tempe sports bar. There's the standard array of TVs and the obligatory pool tables and darts, of course, but that's only the beginning. Texas Hold'em tournaments take place three times a week, off-track betting is available daily, and cornhole matches are held on Saturdays and Sundays. There's also shuffleboard, foosball, old arcade cabinets, and even a crane game where winners pull up a live crustacean. Horse & Hound is big enough to accommodate all that, yet stays homey enough to maintain a core of regulars who come in for the food, fun, and the gorgeous waitstaff.

The only thing that keeps us away from a poker table is our serious and committed relationship with money. (Well, that and a large man with a concealed weapons permit who really hates losing.) Any dive with more than one television, beer, a pool table, a Golden Tee machine and a couple of obnoxious drunks in hockey jerseys can call itself a sports bar.
