Ducks hang in the front window at this traditional Cantonese restaurant in Chinatown. Behind the counter, cooks work frantically fulfilling to-go orders while the host sits large groups in the narrow dining room decorated with Chinese characters and colorful zodiac signs. Stopping in for a quick snack yields great rewards like steamed pork buns and shrimp dumplings. Sit down and you'll find fancier (although still cheap) fare like the spare ribs with bitter melon and seafood pan-fried noodles on a menu featuring more than 200 different dishes, with plenty of them under $6.The restaurant also features a nice selection of casseroles, filled with everything from braised carp to roast pig and oysters, plus congee, a rice porridge with your choice of everything from shrimp to a pork combination of pork meatballs, belly and liver.
