For the coolest, quickest sushi treat on South Beach, hit up Hiro's Sushi Express. It has all the things a sushi restaurant needs. There's a huge lighted board on the wall displaying images of the most popular dishes, their names, and prices, and you can sit at the counter to watch the chefs prepare your mea. Friendly servers deliver your food quickly, and a TV set keeps you entertained as you munch. Hiro's is open till 2 a.m. daily, so it's a perfect stop when you're hungry after a night at the club. And it's very affordable. The sashimi salad appetizer with tuna, salmon, and avocado is only $5.95. If you want to keep it simple, there's tuna and salmon tataki ($6.50). For a roll, try the "three peat," which includes six pieces of California roll, eight of salmon roll, and five of shrimp tempura ($10.50). Like eel? Top your California roll with it for $6.25. You can also get nigiri à la carte for about a dollar apiece. If you're not into seafood, check out the pork and vegetable gyoza ($3.50 for six), corn cream croquettes ($3.50 for three), or chicken teriyaki box ($6.25), with mixed vegetables, rice pilaf, and the daily dessert. Vegetarians will enjoy a tofu steak sautéed in garlic teriyaki sauce ($3.50). Hiro's has something Japanese and tasty for every palate.
