No one would likely call Jeff Eagan's pioneering chain of neighborhood alehouses atmospheric. (The other two are in Greenwood and Columbia City.) This one, atop Queen Anne hill, is a cross between your stepmom's living room and a mid-priced chain restaurant. Eagen's all about the beer - expect to find fine imported drafts alongside top-of-the-line domestic microbrews - and solid, hearty food with seasonal ingredients. The signature marinated fish tacos come with sour cream, cabbage slaw, and a massive salad on the side, enough healthy vegetables to justify that third pint.
Same owners as the 74th Street Ale House. Great menu, large selection of micro brews and a fun crowd.
