They're serious enough about the blues, but at Highway 99 Blues Club, they like a good old-fashioned party, too. Depending on the night, you'll run into zydeco, rockabilly, folk, funk, traditional blues, or rock-edged blues at this borderline enormous brick-walled basement nightclub. A bank of pool tables and a big fireplace surround the stage, and a wall of smart black-and-white photographs captures the images of the nation's blues-hued past. The gorgeous 34-foot bar, made of recycled parts and offering specialty cocktails like the Muddy Waters Mudslide and The Blind Lemon Jefferson Drop, is about as nice to belly up to as anything in town.
Featuring Mark Dufresne. With The Seattle Firefighters Pipes & Drums, The Muddy Sons, The Modern Relics.
Such a cool 'little' Blues club. Meaning, it's not too little, but a good size club, yet intimate enough that I can get up in there and be right near the musicians. I am a Blues Photographer, so I have heard some Amazing Blues music throughout the country and I have to say, this is one of my favorite clubs. I love the set up and the drinks are good and reasonably priced and I love the Red Beans and Rice by the bowl!
If you love and feel the blues like I do, than this is the place for you... Tuesday's rock... check out Dudley Taft jamming some funky blues with the Quantum Mechanics starting @ 8.
