Many of those with a sweet tooth in Collin County have a certain parlor -- and waffle cones -- in their sights. Owner Henry Gentry has operated his eponymous shop for decades, retaining a dedicated clientele with his flavor combinations. It ain't called Henry's Homemade Ice Cream for nothing. Every ice cream is handmade daily. Some of the different flavors include green tea, cinnamon and coconut. The banana split marries the complex tastes of the dessert. There are chocolate, vanilla and berry elements. The parlor is the kind of place your grandparents or great-grandparents would meet at during their youth. Of course, if traditional chocolate or vanilla is what you're after, Henry's will hook you up. Either way, Gentry and company have proven that in an economic climate favorable to uber-chains, the little guy can thrive.
