Houston music lovers gained a true treasure when Heights Vinyl opened up in late 2011. The little shop run by Craig Brown has become a destination for record hunters on the lookout for quality used stock, but Brown’s passion for music extends to more than just making a sale. He also thinks Heights Vinyl has a mission to support the local music scene and the bands who roll through town, shown by the store's hosting record releases, in-store appearances, and special acoustic performances on its “High Noon Stage." It's not a bad problem to have. In the past few years, Houston's record scene has exploded. One of the newest kids on the block, Heights Vinyl, has already made an impression with its in-store shows, collection of old, refurbished turntables and clever record-pricing system based on the characters from the movie Reservoir Dogs.
