Sesame Street might not have had a friendly neighborhood roti dhalpouri master, but Minneapolis has, ever since 1983: He is Harry Singh and he is a character, a cook, and the undisputed and beloved metropolitan-area King of all Hot Sauce. This famous hot sauce comes on the side of a roti dhalpouri, a huge handmade flatbread (the roti) filled with any number of fascinating curries, like the earthy, toasty chickpea and potato, or the rich, savory lamb curry, the whole thing folded up into a burritolike construct about the size of your face. Harry also makes the best jerk chicken in town--a saucy, tender, authentic home-island-cooking version that's as tender as Grandma's pot roast, but far more Caribbean. Be sure to try one of Harry's homemade drinks, like the spicy (non-bubbly) ginger beer, the sarsaparillalike Mauby, or the lemonadelike soursop.
