At first glance, a bakery-slash-hot dog stand is a strange idea. But Happy Fatz makes it work, combining the two into a charming little restaurant that's casual enough to incorporate both ideas. It doesn't feel odd to linger over a hot dog and an Italian soda in the old converted house, then follow up your meal with a miniature pineapple upside down cake or a cupcake to go. You can even add a shot of milk for $1. The dogs are better than the baked goods, though: all-beef, served in Slow Dough buns, with plenty of fresh and inventive toppings.
