When the clock strikes five on Friday evening, local South Floridians will scramble to secure their sidewalk seat under one of SUSHISAMBA dromo’s grand orange umbrellas for a toast with friends and colleagues to the weekend ahead. To kick off the evening and help patrons relax and enjoy their surroundings, SUSHISAMBA dromo will offer complimentary “TGIF” hand massages and a tropical mix of bossanova, samba, and Brazilian reggae, spun by Miami-favorite, DJ Soulman. Specials include Caipirinha Pitchers ($40); Anticuchos ($5 with the purchase of a pitcher); Sushi Rolls ($5 with the purchase of a pitcher); and complimentary Edamame.

Sushi and sashimi are never short of impeccably fresh and well prepared, while such familiar dishes as anticuchos, tiraditos, churrasco and, crisp-fried whole snapper are tasty because of first-rate ingredients and precise execution. But the more adventurous dishes take Sushi Samba to another level: from the daring simplicity of sawagani -- tiny flash-fried Japanese river crabs that you eat shell, legs, and all -- to the over-the-top opulence of tuna sushi rolls topped with foie gras and gold leaf and subtly scented with shiso leaf.
