Not to be confused with Tower Grove's The Handlebar (singular), which caters to bicycle types, Handlebars (plural) is a North County biker bar catering to rough-and-tumble motorcycle types. To give an idea, I was threatened and then bought a shot within 5 minutes of entrance, both by the same patron. Don't get me wrong, Handlebars is an inviting atmosphere (that patron wasn't the only to buy me a drink) with specials nearly every night of the week. Monday nights feature free pool, Tuesday is Trivia Night with an array of prizes to be won, Wednesday features "drunken bingo", on Thursdays the drinks are two-for-one, and on the weekends they pack the house with live bands and a red light special wherein the thirsty masses are given 5 minutes for free shots when a wall-mounted siren sounds. With sports on the four TVs that line the walls, Silver Tee, pools tables and darts, Handlebars is a sure-fire spot for a good time.
