This appealing Venezuelan spot offers plates like asado negro-beef braised in cane sugar and red wine-and pernil. But the best values are the steamy white corn arepas, which come stuffed with all sorts of good things, from fried tilapia and greens to chorizo with onion and tomatoes. One of the simplest arepas is also one of the best--filled with sliced avocado and Guayanés cheese, a soft, salty treat that's like a cross between queso fresco and mozzarella.
