This place is magical, in a whimsical, halcyon, Fried Green Tomatoes kinda way. To enter, you walk straight through a chichi boutique in the Old Orchard section of Webster Groves. Once you get past the fitting rooms, you make a turn and suddenly you're in this whistle-stop café that looks like your grandmother's breakfast nook. The Grove Deli's list of sandwiches is long, and curious. You've got your classics (BLT, tuna on white or wheat, French dip). You've got your new wave (Caesar grilled chicken tortilla wrap, pizza melts on French bread). And you've got your quirky and capricious, like the "Prosperity," an open-faced, roast beef/Provel/garlic butter sandwich baked on French bread. Try the peach pie for dessert.
