Grizzly Rose owner Scott Durland took over the former After the Gold Rush space in 2011, completely redoing the outside of the building, the stage, and electrical and lighting systems. But Durland says they kept the ceiling lights from the Gold Rush days, and the entrance has been revamped to look like a mine shaft in homage to the former location. While the 1,200-capacity Grizzly Rock has brought in ’80s hard rock bands like Warrant and Skid Row, the venue also caters to other genres and hosts a fair number of cover bands.

Not really a good place to go. The venues this week are aweful. Ripped off tickets from compseats, webpage errors. They don't honor their tickets, leave their customer ticked off. The seats aren't clean. The artists are snobbs and drug addicts.
In addition to being one of the state's best spots for country music, the Grizzly Rose has hosted its share of '80s hair bands. But when owner Scott Durland opened the Grizzly Rock last year in the former After the Gold Rush space, he started bringing hard rock back, starting with bands like Slaughter, Skid Row and Winger.
